Increasing the distance

Today, for Breakfast, I had (3) Scrambled farm-fresh eggs with green peppers from last year’s garden. I had a glass of fresh cow’s milk, (2) cups coffee, and two sausage patties. I’m trying to increase my protien in the morning, so I can meet my daily requirement. IT was my rest day, no weights. I went for a 3.5 mile run, instead. The route I chose has (3) large hills to climb and 2 smaller hills. I mostly run on county roads, which means a small shoulder. I try to run when the roads are least busiest. My goal is to run 5 miles, before “Kryptonite.”

Regional WOD

This WOD was one of the hardest, so far. We started with Back Squats at 135# x 50 reps, 20 pull-ups BW, 30 chest to over-shoulder at 105#, 2nd round: 50 Front squats 85#, 20 pull-ups BW, 30 chest to over-shoulder 75#, 3rd round: 50 overhead squats 75#, 20 pull-ups BW, and 30 chest to over-shoulder 75#, and rest. I try to make sure and have plenty of water, protien and other nutrients throughout the day, prior to this type of WOD.

Linda, AKA “3 Bars of Death”

Tonight I warmed up with a one mile run then I got started. The prescribed wt for Linda is Deadlifts 1 1/2 Body weight, Bench Press 1 x Body weight, Cleans 3/4 body weight. I weigh 174 lbs., so I scaled my WOD. I did 205# DL, 165# BP, 135# Cleans. The WOD is 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 and done. it took me 41:01 to complete and I was wiped. I’m looking forward to trying it in a few months and adding weight to the WOD. Today I ate 2 Baked chicken breasts, a plate of scrambled eggs, One protien shake, 2 carrots, 2 almonds, one hazel nut, 8 grapes, 2 cups coffee, one glass of fresh cow’s milk, a drink with Nosxplode before my WOD, and I took my vitamins. I’m not counting calories, I am trying to maintain about 70 grams of protien each day.

Running WOD

Tonight I went running x 2.7 miles, mostly hills. I am training for the Garage Games, as I’ve mentioned before. They suggest training for 4.5 miles to be ready for competition. I’m planning to add 1/2 mile every time I run, until I can run 5 miles straight. For Dinner tonight, I ad Baked Chicken breast, cabbage and a glass of frech cow milk. I also had a handful of raisins and one plum.

“Rock carry”

1335207887634 I’m training for “The Firebreather Challenge,” which is a unique obstacle course event that will be held on June 9th in Metropolis, IL at Fort Massac State Park. Created by the owners of the “Garage Games” series of competitions. This will be my first and I plan to do “Tough Mudder” in October this year

Crossfit growing

Our gym is adding members, which are joining the Crossfit class. Soon, we may need an extra class. Today we ran. 400 m, 25 step lunges, KB swing 44 lbs, 25 burpees, 400 m, then repeat
My time was 14:30 and I was fatigued. Crossfit allows a full functional workout in a short time, I love that!
